- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cups fresh strawberries
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare two cake pans.
- Cream butter and sugar, then mix in eggs and vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
- Divide batter and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Prepare custard by cooking milk, egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch until thick.
- Cool custard completely.
- Layer cake with custard and sliced strawberries.
- Top with second cake layer and whipped cream.
- Chill for 2 hours before serving.
